Transmission leaks around seal

transmission leaks around seal was told that this is the reason it shifts slowly. just wanted to know if that could be true before i invest in another transmission

leaking at a seal generally does not effect shifting unless the fluid is very low. get it checked from a trans shop to see what needs to be done.
