What is your question?
My E350 ambulance chassis, I had this unit for six months I have driven it with no issues until last month, It started with the od light started flashing when I had a very heavy load. I found that if it was started cold I could drive all day with out the od light flashing as long as I would not shut it off. if I did shut it off the light would flash after 10 -20 miles. No codes would show up on a scan. no driveability issues ever happened with or with out the od light flashing. trans fluid is clear and not burnt. 3 days ago I added Lucas trans stop slip and sealer Just for a try. Shortly after I noticed that my trans started shifting up and down all the time but kind of backwards, if you pull hard or steady it upshift and if you let off or hit cruz speed it would downshift. ** this is the kicker, the trans is shifting into od now I see a 200 rpm drop @ highway speed from before The additive** I would run 1850 rpm @ 50 mph now if I am pulling she drops to 1650 rpm @ 50 and when you cruz it goes back to 1850 @ 50. also now If If I turn off the od it basicly acts the same way where it hasn't done it before. also the OD light stopped flashing

Well...the obvious statement here is that the transmission needs diagnosed to find out what is happening. We can all guess at what might be wrong, but the truth will be in what the codes are and what different components are reading when measured. This transmission needs a specific transmission diagnostic tool to plug into the harness and manually control the unit. With this tool and the abilities it affords a technician, the problem can be diagnosed. I can tell you that the E4OD / 4R100 automatic transmission in this vehicle does get quite taxed with heavy loads, and can definitely show signs of weakness when approaching gross vehicle weight ratings. The torque output of the 7.3L Power Stroke that is standard in itself puts the transmission at its limits. Using a stop slip sealer additive is definitely something I would strongly discourage, since you may actually cause more troubles than you may repair. What is you had a throttle position sensor issue? The sealer would do nothing good for you, and would very possibly cause additional issues. An O/D light flashing will always have codes actively occuring, and testing should be done prior to shutting the engine off with this OBDI vehicle. The codes will be great clues to get you towards a conclusion.
mod7928 Hey mate! I have just in purchase a 1995 e350 short school bus and im having the same problems, Just trying to find out your diagnosis? OD light flashing occasionally and shifting from 4 to 3 around 50mph. Any feedback would be much appreciated.
Hello - with that 95 school bus, which engine is it equipped with? By the way, this is ENTIRELY different; you have an E4OD electronically operated automatic transmission. With a flashing OD light, it indicates trouble codes are present, and a diagnosis needs to be performed. Unfortunately, likely an internal issue that will require replacement. But it's worth checking into anyway.
