tranny problems

I'd say either the shift linkage at the trans is out of adjustment or possibly the bushing attaching the shift cable to the trans shift linkage is seized or missing. check the drivers side of the transmission and you will see a cable and rod that attaches to an arm on the side of the case right near the tranny pan. I would make sure the trucks parked on a flat surface and block the wheels, then pop the cable off the arm, (most likely that will come apart very easy due to a worn or missing bushing).

YOU HAVE SOME OF YOUR CLUTCH DISK STUCK TOGATHER. THE ONLY WAY TO REPAIR IT IS TO REBUILD IT.
