the left front wheel makes a grinding noise when i turn sharply

when i turn my wheel sharply there is a grinding noise coming from the front left (passenger) wheel.

What makes this problem better or worse?

only when turning sharply -- is fine when driving straight or normal corners

How long has your 2001 Chrysler Town & Country had this problem?
