Some radio button lights are out. Is this a simple fix or am I going to have to48655 take out a second mortgage?

I replaced my battery not knowing that doing so would cause a lock out of the radio. I have checked other sites for a code but they all require a fee. I am unemployed and any help you could provide would be much appreciated
