The check engine light came on, I ran the codes- and indicated an evap leak. So 2 most common problems are the gas cap and the purge valve. I inspected and tested both, using procedures found on YouTube, and I believe both items are ok. Question is- for anyone who has had this before, do I go ahead and replace both parts- 1 at a time to see if it resolves it- or should I inspect the gas lines, from that purge valve to the gas tank. Even though I believe both parts to be ok, is it possible that they are not ?
Are there any other parts to check ? Any other suggestions?
Id rather fix myself, than take to a mechanic, shop.

How did you determine that the gas cap and purge valve were the "common problems"? I do not see anything to support that. What codes are present? P0455? P0456? P0457? The type and significance of leak matters.
A proper test would consist of activating the system while adding vapor to the system to see where it leaks out of. Then, you can be sure of the origination of the leak, and it can be resolved without any guesswork.
