The immobilizer is not allowing the vehicle to start. That is also why the security lamp is blinking. There is a small transponder inside the key that the security system activates when you attempt to start the vehicle. If the code that the key transmits matches the code programmed into the system, the car starts, and the security system disables. If the code does not match, or there is no code transmitted at all, the immobilizer activates the security lamp, and will not allow the vehicle to start. Any type of transponder, such as toll tags, and speed pass type credit/debit cards, can also cause interference. If ou have a spare key to the vehicle, try that one, and see if the car starts. If it does, then the transponder has failed in your key. They don't last forever. If you don't have a spare, then you will need anew key from your dealer. They are the only ones that can supply it, and the code will have to be entered into the security system by them as well.
