THE FRONT TIRE COULD DEFLATE DUE TO A BROKEN FRONT COIL SPRING CONTACTING THE TIRE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A VEHICLE CRASH.
Ford has recalled certain 1993 Taurus and Mercury Sable vehicles in cold weather states for a concern with the front coil springs. In states with high corrosion rates, the front coil springs could develop cracks and fracture. If this happens, the front tires could be damaged, causing a possible loss of vehicle control. Dealers will install shields on the front coil springs to prevent the front tires from being contacted in the event of spring breakage.
