THE BUCKLE MALFUNCTION WOULD PREVENT THE USE OF THESAFETY BELT SYSTEM, PLACING THE FRONT SEAT OCCUPANT IN INCREASED RISK OF INJURYIN THE EVENT OF A SUDDEN STOP OR ACCIDENT.
The safety belt buckles may not properly restrain passengers of the vehicle in an accident because they may not allow the seat belt to latch or release properly. This increases the risk of injury in a crash.
You must visit a General Motors dealership to perform recall repairs on your Pontiac vehicle. The schedule for General Motors to contact known owners of affected vehicles was during December, 1993. If you wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local General Motors dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.
