IF THE OUTBOARD REAR SAFETY BELT ASSEMBLY WILL NOTRELEASE THE WEBBING FROM THE RETRACTED POSITION, SAFETY BELT USE FOR THE SEATOCCUPANT IS IMPOSSIBLE, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY IN AN ACCIDENT.
The rear outboard safety belts may not pull out from the retracted position to secure an occupant. This would increase the risk of injury for any occupant who is not able to be restrained.
You must visit a General Motors dealership to perform recall repairs on your GMC truck or Chevrolet truck. The schedule for General Motors to initially contact known owners of affected vehicles was during July, 1993. If you did not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local General Motors dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.
