On August 3, 2017, Chevrolet recalled 29,647 GMC Sierra 1500. General motors llc (gm) is recalling certain 2017 chevrolet silverado 1500, and gmc sierra 1500 trucks. the owner's manual for the affected vehicles may be missing instructions on how to use the tether anchorage and child restraint anchorage systems. as such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 225, "child restraint anchorage systems."

Information on how to utilize the vehicle equipped child seat anchorage and tether fastening were not provided in the owners manual of the vehicle. Without this instruction, a vehicle operator may erroneously install a child seat incorrectly, leading to it not being secured properly and increasing risk of injury in an accident.

Recall repairs on your Chevrolet or GMC Truck must be performed by a General Motors dealership. General Motors will notify known owners of affected vehicles (a timetable of this notification is unavailable as of the time of this writing).
