Brakes
THE REDUCED MASTER CYLINDER STROKE RESULTS IN FAILURE TOMEET THE PARTIAL SYSTEM FAILURE REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS 105, "HYDRAULIC BRAKESYSTEMS". A FURTHER REDUCTION IN BRAKING ABILITY AT A TIME WHEN PARTIAL SYSTEMFAILURE HAS OCCURRED COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH.
The brakes may not apply properly as desired due to a pushrod pin that is too small and installed incorrectly. This can prevent braking as desired and lead to a crash.
You must visit a General Motors dealership to perform recall repairs on your GMC or Chevrolet van. The schedule for General Motors to initially contact known owners of affected vehicles was during September, 1992. If you did not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local General Motors dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.
