Brakes
BRAKE FLUID CAN CATCH ON FIRE WHEN IT CONTACTS THE HOTPRE-RESISTOR, POSING THE RISK OF INJURY TO ANYONE IN OR NEAR THE VEHICLE.
The plastic brake fluid hose that runs from the automatic slip control unit is misrouted and runs too close to a pre-resistor for the electric auxiliary engine cooling fan. As this pre-resistor may get very hot under certain conditions, the plastic hose may melt causing a brake fluid leak onto a hot component, resulting in a fire hazard.
You must contact and visit a Mercedes-Benz dealership to perform recall repairs on your Mercedes-Benz vehicle. The notification of known owners of affected vehicles began during June, 1992. If you wish to check to see if your vehicle is included and has not yet been repaired, please contact one of your local Mercedes-Benz dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.
