92V-083 Recall Summary

The plastic brake fluid hose that runs from the automatic slip control unit is misrouted and runs too close to a pre-resistor for the electric auxiliary engine cooling fan. As this pre-resistor may get very hot under certain conditions, the plastic hose may melt causing a brake fluid leak onto a hot component, resulting in a fire hazard.

You must contact and visit a Mercedes-Benz dealership to perform recall repairs on your Mercedes-Benz vehicle. The notification of known owners of affected vehicles began during June, 1992. If you wish to check to see if your vehicle is included and has not yet been repaired, please contact one of your local Mercedes-Benz dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. How many recalled cars can the dealer repair each day (while also doing their daily service business)?

Recalls are unrelated to your warranty coverage. Any recalls that are issued for safety-related items on your vehicle will be repaired by the vehicle manufacturer at no cost to you.
