Parking Brake May Not Hold Vehicle Securely

Recall Details

The rear parking brake cables may differ in length and as a result may not secure the vehicle as needed when actuated. Dealers will replace the mismatched parking brake cable with one of a proper length free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

The parking brake may not hold the vehicle securely due to mismatched cables being installed during vehicle production. This can cause the vehicle to roll away unexpectedly when parked.

What Should You Do?

Recalls on your Dodge or Chrysler must be performed by a Dodge or Chrysler dealership. Chrysler notified known owners of affected vehicles in 1991. If you did not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Dodge or Chrysler dealerships. They will also check for any other uncompleted recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.
