Rear wheel lock-up or moving in an unintended direction can increase the risk of a crash.
The transmission may shift harshly, reduce engine power and cause unwanted deceleration and can even cause the rear wheels to lock up due to a software concern with the transmission control module. These symptoms could lead to a crash.
You must visit a General Motors dealership to perform recall repairs on your GMC van or Chevrolet van. The schedule for General Motors to initially contact known owners of affected vehicles was during December, 2024. If you did not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local General Motors dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The General Motors recall designation is N242471620.
