Drive Train
A damaged or missing bushing may prevent the vehicle from shifting into the intended gear, and cause the vehicle to move in an unexpected direction. Additionally, the vehicle may roll after the driver selects the 'Park' position. Either scenario increases the risk of a crash or injury.
The shift cable to transmission bushing may degrade or detach, making the shift lever position selector be in error, possibly causing the vehicle to be in "neutral" gear when not desired to be and allowing the vehicle to roll away. It can also allow the vehicle to operate in an undesired direction. This can lead to accidents and injury.
Recall repairs on your Ford must be performed by a Ford dealership. Ford will begin notifying known owners of affected vehicles beginning in June, 2022. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Ford dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Ford recall number is 22S43.
