For all wheel drive equipped models, the driveshaft attaching bolts that secure the rear driveshaft to the transfer case may become loose or damaged. This can allow the driveshaft to separate from the transfer case and would result in the loss of drive power or unintended movement while parked without the parking brake engaged. All would increase risk of a crash and injury.

Recall repairs on your Ford must be performed by a Ford dealership. Ford will begin notifying known owners of affected vehicles beginning in January, 2022. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Ford dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. How long it takes to fix a recall depends on many different factors:

How many recalled cars can the dealer repair each day (while also doing their daily service business)?

Recalls are unrelated to your warranty coverage. Any recalls that are issued for safety-related items on your vehicle will be repaired by the vehicle manufacturer at no cost to you.
