The starter motor positive cable may not have been installed correctly, allowing the power supply harness wires to chafe. This can cause a short circuit, a vehicle stall and possibly a fire hazard, all increasing risk of accident and injury.

Recall repairs on your Mercedes-Benz vehicle must be performed by a Mercedes-Benz dealership. Mercedes-Benz will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in May, 2021. Recalls are unrelated to your warranty coverage. Any recalls that are issued for safety-related items on your vehicle will be repaired by the vehicle manufacturer at no cost to you.
