The instrument panel casing may not have been properly tightened to the passenger frontal air bag. If the air bag deploys as needed in an accident, the air bag could damage the instrument panel and cause small pieces of the panel to separate and strike the vehicle's occupants, increasing risk of injury.

Recall repairs on your BMW must be performed by a BMW dealership. BMW will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in May, 2020. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local BMW dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. How many recalled cars can the dealer repair each day (while also doing their daily service business)?

Recalls are unrelated to your warranty coverage. Any recalls that are issued for safety-related items on your vehicle will be repaired by the vehicle manufacturer at no cost to you.
