Electrical & Lights
If the driver operates the vehicle unaware that ESC and ABS are not functioning, there is an increased risk of a crash.
The electronic brake control module (EBCM) has a software error that may disable the vehicle's electronic stability control (ESC) and antilock braking system (ABS). When this happens, the warning lights that alert the driver that there are problems with these systems will not illuminate. If the driver does not know these safety features are inactive, the risk of a crash is increased.
Recall repairs on your Chevrolet, Cadillac or GMC truck must be performed by a General Motors dealership. General Motors will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in January, 2020. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local General Motors dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The General Motors recall designation is N192268090.
