Engine Vacuum Pump Fails Reducing Power Braking Assist

Recall Details

The vacuum created by the vacuum pump may decrease over time, negatively affecting braking performance. Dealers will reprogram the Electronic Brake Control Module free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

Over time, the amount of vacuum created by the vacuum pump may decrease, negatively affecting power braking assist. This would increase braking effort and could extend stopping distances, which could result in a crash.
