Electrical & Lights
Without the seatbelt warning reminder, the driver may forget to fasten the seatbelt, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
The indicator warning light that notifies the driver that seat belts for vehicle occupants are not yet fastened will not properly illuminate for approximately five seconds after the ignition is moved to the "on" or "start" position. This failure to notify the driver of seat belt utilization could allow occupants to forget to fasten their seat belts, which increases risk of occupant injury in an accident.
Recall repairs on your Chevrolet or GMC van must be performed by a General Motors dealership. General Motors will notify known owners of affected vehicles (a timetable for this notification is not available as of the time of this writing). If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local General Motors dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The General Motors recall number is N192264500.
