Fire Hazard From Engine Coolant Hose Cracks Leaking Coolant On Exhaust

Recall Details

The engine coolant bleeder hose may crack and leak coolant. This can cause coolant to leak on the catalytic converter heat shield insulation causing a fire hazard. Dealers will replace the engine side coolant bleeder hose free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

A coolant hose in the engine compartment may crank, resulting in a coolant leak. If coolant leaks inside the catalytic converter heat shield insulation, it can catch fire while the vehicle is stationary, increasing risk of injury.
