Volvo car usa llc (volvo) is recalling certain 2017 xc90 vehicles. the micro gas generator (mgg), a subcomponent part used within the right hand side seat belt retractor for the third row seats, may detach after the seatbelt retractor pretensioner is deployed.

A portion of the right hand side seat belt retractor for the third row seats of the vehicle may detach during an accident, after the pretensioner in the seat belt deploys to protect vehicle occupants. This part could become a projectile in the cabin, resulting in occupant injury.

Recall repairs on your Volvo must be performed by a Volvo dealership. Volvo will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in August, 2017. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Volvo dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle.
