Shift Lever Cable Detaches From Transmission

Recall Details

The shift lever cable may detach from the transmission due to a failed bushing. Dealers will replace the transmission side shifter cable bushing free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

The cable that links the shift lever to the automatic transmission may detach because of a failed bushing. This would prevent the driver from being able to shift the transmission through the various gears including "PARK", and may allow the vehicle to roll away, which can lead to accident or injury.
