Recall 19V052000

Fuel Tank Deformed Causing Improper Fuel Gauge Reading

Recall Details

The fuel tank may be deformed resulting in the fuel pump to be raised and the fuel gauge as a result to show an improper amount of fuel left in the tank. Dealers will inspect the vehicle and replace the fuel tank as needed free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

The fuel tank of the vehicle may be deformed, causing the fuel pump and sending unit to be raised from where it would normally be located. As a result, the fuel gauge may show an inaccurately high amount of fuel in the vehicle when it is low. This can cause the vehicle to run out of gas and stall unexpectedly, increasing risk of a crash.

What Should You Do?

Recall repairs on your Acura must be performed by an Acura dealership. Acura notified known owners of affected vehicles beginning in March, 2019. If you did not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Acura dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Acura recall numbers are H3U and Z3T.
