Drive Train
A vehicle stall, especially when driving a high rate of speed, can increase the risk of a crash.
The torque converter on vehicles equipped with the continuously variable transmission (CVT) has internal components called the pump impeller blades that may detach while driving, especially under high load driving conditions. This can cause the engine to stall, and result in an accident.
Recall repairs on your Toyota must be performed by a Toyota dealership. Toyota will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in January, 2019. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Toyota dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Toyota recall numbers are J17 and J07.
