The rear brake caliper pistons may not have been properly coated, causing gas to be released into the rear brake hydraulic circuit, reducing brake system performance. Dealers will bleed the rear axle brake system free of charge to resolve the concern.

Recall repairs on your Jeep or Dodge vehicle must be performed by a Jeep or Dodge dealership. Chrysler will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in September, 2018. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Jeep or Dodge dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Chrysler recall number is U86.

How long it takes to fix a recall depends on many different factors:

How many recalled cars can the dealer repair each day (while also doing their daily service business)?

Recalls are unrelated to your warranty coverage. Any recalls that are issued for safety-related items on your vehicle will be repaired by the vehicle manufacturer at no cost to you.
