Driver's Seat Belt Attachment Cable Fatigues And Separates

Recall Details

The driver's front seat belt retractor may become separated from the driver's seat due to failure of the flexible steel attachment cable. Dealers will replace this pretensioner cable and seat side-shield free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

The flexible steel cable that attaches the driver's seat belt to the outboard side of the seat may repeatedly be bent and ultimately separate due to cable fatigue. This can allow the driver to be improperly restrained in an accident, increasing risk of injury.
