The passenger frontal air bag may be deactivated from operation when needed, or alternatively be active when it should be disabled due to a the passenger front seat being occupied by a child. This is because the "occupant classification system" (OCS) might not be functioning properly, and would increase risk of injury in an accident.

Recall repairs on your Mercedes Benz vehicle must be performed by a Mercedes Benz dealership. Mercedes Benz will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in January, 2018. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Mercedes Benz dealerships. Recalls are unrelated to your warranty coverage. Any recalls that are issued for safety-related items on your vehicle will be repaired by the vehicle manufacturer at no cost to you.
