Panoramic Sunroof Panels Detach From Vehicle

Recall Details

The fixed panoramic sun roof frontal and side plastic panels may have insufficient bonding, allowing the panels to separate during vehicle operation. Dealers will inspect the bonding on the sun roof panels and will correct it as necessary free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

Due to a failure of the bonding of the glass, the sunroof panels may detach from the vehicle while driving. This could result in an accident, or a crash with injury to vehicles following behind affected vehicles.

What Should You Do?

Recall repairs on your Mercedes Benz vehicle must be performed by a Mercedes Benz dealership. Mercedes Benz will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in December, 2017. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Mercedes Benz dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.
