The improperly manufactured bolts may fracture. If a seat, seatback, or seatbelt anchor attaching bolt fractures, the affected component may not be properly secured, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
Improperly manufactured bolts may have been used to secure seat belts to the vehicle. These bolts may fracture, resulting in the seat belts not being able to securely protect vehicle occupants. Dealers will replace the affected bolts free of charge to resolve the concern.
Recall repairs on your Ford or Lincoln must be performed by a Ford or Lincoln dealership. Ford will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in August, 2017. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Ford or Lincoln dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Ford recall number is 17S17.
