Replacement Headliners Install During Service Visit Not Protective Enough In An Accident

Recall Details

For vehicles that have had a headliner replaced during a service visit, the replacement headliner may not have enough impact energy-absorbing foam blocks attached to it. The replacement headliner may not protect occupants adequately in an accident. Dealers will replace the headliner assembly free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

A headliner replaced during a vehicle service visit may not have enough impact energy-absorbing foam blocks attached, and as a result may not protect occupants adequately in an accident. This would increase risk of occupant injury.
