Front Seat Belt Anchor Fails In An Accident

Recall Details

The seat belt anchor cables may fail when exposed to heat caused by deployment of seat belt pre-tensioners in an accident. This could result in the seat belt not restraining passengers as needed in an accident. Dealers will apply a protective coating to the seat belt cable free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

If the vehicle is involved in an accident, heat from the deployment of a seat belt pre-tensioner may cause a front seat belt anchor cable to fail. If this happens, the seat belts may not properly restrain the front seat occupants. This would lead to increased risk of injury.

What Should You Do?

If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Ford or Lincoln dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle.
