Fuel Rail Leaks

Recall Details

The fuel rail crossover tube may leak fuel and cause a fire hazard. Dealers will inspect the engine assembly for damage to the fuel rail crossover tube and replace it as needed free of charge to resolve the concern.

What Should You Do?

Recall repairs on your Jeep or Dodge vehicle must be performed by a Jeep or Dodge dealership. Chrysler will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in December, 2016. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Jeep or Dodge dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Chrysler recall number is S85.

Summary
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2016 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles manufactured February 10, 2016, to April 28, 2016 and equipped with a 3.6L engine built at the Saltillo engine plant. During the assembly of the engine, the fuel rail crossover tube may have been damaged, which, over time, may result in a fuel leak.
Consequence
A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source, can increase the risk of a fire.
Remedy
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the engine assembly for damage to the fuel rail crossover tube, replacing it as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin December 19, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S85.
