Fuel Conditioning Module Protective Shield Becomes Dislodged Resulting In A Fuel Leak

If the shield becomes dislodged, the drain valve may open resulting in a fuel leak. A fuel leak, in the presence of an ignition source, increases the risk of a fire. Under certain conditions, significant liquid fuel on the road surface may cause a slip hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

The protective shield that secures the fuel conditioning module may become dislodged. This could result in the drain valve of the module opening, causing a fuel leak. This would cause a fire hazard and a slip hazard.

Recall repairs on your Ford must be performed by a Ford dealership. Ford notified known owners of affected vehicles beginning in November, 2016.
