Recall 16V668000

Air Bags And Restraint Systems Disabled In An Accident

Recall Details

The occupant restraint control (OCR) module may short circuit and prevent the vehicle's restraint system from operating in an accident. Dealers will repair the vehicle (a procedure for this repair is still under development at the time of this writing) free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

The occupant restraint control (OCR) module may malfunction and prevent deployment and proper operation of safety restraint devices such as the frontal air bags, seat belt pretensioners and side air bags in the event of an accident. This could increase risk of injury.

What Should You Do?

If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Chrysler recall number is S61.
