Transmission Pump Fails

Recall Details

A hydraulic transmission pump could seize and cause the transmission to stop functioning. Dealers will replace the transmission pump free of charge to resolve the concern.

What Should You Do?

Recalls on your Chrysler or Dodge must be performed by a Chrysler or Dodge dealership, respectively. Chrysler will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in late August, 2016. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Chrysler or Dodge dealerships. They will also check for any other uncompleted recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles manufactured July 31, 2015, to April 18, 2016, 2016 Dodge Journey vehicles manufactured August 17, 2015, to January 29, 2016, and 2016 RAM ProMaster vehicles manufactured August 15, 2016, to April 15, 2016. The transmission pump may seize causing a loss of hydraulic pressure.
If the transmission loses hydraulic pressure, the vehicle may lose motive power, increasing the risk of a crash.
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the transmission pump, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on August 18, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S44.
