The seat belt retractor retaining plates may not be fastened down securely, resulting in the seat belt possibly not securing an occupant in an accident. Dealers will inspect and replace both front seat belt assemblies as necessary free of charge to resolve the concern.

Recalls on your Kia must be performed by a Kia dealership. Kia will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in June, 2016. How long it takes to fix a recall depends on many different factors:

How many vehicles are affected by the recall? How complex is the problem to fix? How many different parts are involved in the repair? Are the repair parts available? How many recalled cars can the dealer repair each day (while also doing their daily service business)?

Recalls are unrelated to your warranty coverage. Any recalls that are issued for safety-related items on your vehicle will be repaired by the vehicle manufacturer at no cost to you.
