If a retaining plate breaks during a crash, pieces of the plate could strike the occupants, increasing risk of injury.
The seat belt retractor retaining plates may not be fastened down securely, resulting in the seat belt possibly not securing an occupant in an accident. Dealers will inspect and replace both front seat belt assemblies as necessary free of charge to resolve the concern.
Recalls on your Kia must be performed by a Kia dealership. Kia will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in June, 2016. If you do receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Kia dealerships. They will also check for any other uncompleted recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.
