Suspension & Steering
Inadequate welds may allow the control arm to separate from the bushing, compromising steering and increasing the risk of a crash.
The front suspension upper control arms may have welds that are not sufficient, resulting in separation of the arm from the bushing. Dealers will replace both the left and right upper control arms and realign the vehicle suspension free of charge to resolve the concern.
Recalls on your Chevrolet or GMC truck must be performed by a General Motors dealership. General Motors will begin notifying known owners of affected vehicles in May, 2016. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local General Motors dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The General Motors recall number is 42190.
