Drive Train
Drivers thinking that their vehicle's transmission is in the PARK position may be struck by the vehicle and injured if they attempt to get out of the vehicle while the engine is running and the parking brake is not engaged.
The vehicle may not notify the occupants that the vehicle is not shifted to the park position when a door is opened, resulting in an occupant not knowing that the vehicle is not secured in park, the vehicle possibly rolling away and risking injury. Dealers will update the vehicle software to mitigate the risk of vehicle roll-away free of charge to resolve the concern.
Recall repairs on your Dodge, Jeep or Chrysler must be performed by a Dodge, Jeep or Chrysler dealership. Chrysler will notify owners of affected vehicles (a timetable of this notification is not available as of the time of this writing). If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Dodge, Jeep or Chrysler dealerships. They will also check for any other uncompleted recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Chrysler recall number is S27.
