Recall 16V209000

Driver's Seat Belt Fails

Recall Details

The tensioner cable for the driver's seat belt may be positioned such that the driver slides over it, resulting in fatigue of this cable. This could cause it to separate from the seat belt. The driver may not be properly protected in a crash if this happens. Dealers will modify vehicles to prevent the tensioner from being damaged, and will repair any tensioner that has already been damaged free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

The seat belt for the driver's seat may fail to restrain the driver properly in an accident. This would increase risk of injury.
