Suspension & Steering
Without a TPMS, the driver would not be alerted if one or more tires became under inflated. Driving with under inflated tires increases the risk of a crash.
When manufactured, the affected vehicles were not equipped with tire pressure monitoring systems installed. This violates federal requirements, and would not alert the driver as needed if a tire became low in air pressure while driving. Dealers will add the hardware and software to install the tire pressure monitoring system in the vehicles free of charge to resolve the concern.
Recalls on your Chevrolet or GMC van must be performed by a General Motors dealership. General Motors began notifying owners of affected vehicles in May, 2016. If you did not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local General Motors dealerships. They will also check for any other uncompleted recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The General Motors recall number is 15819.
