Fuel Tank Seam Leaks Fuel

Recall Details

The fuel tank may corrode and develop a fuel leak at a seam weld under the tank mounting reinforcement brackets, due to exposure to corrosive road salt. Dealers will inspect the vehicles and either clean and treat the fuel tank with a corrosion preventative or replace the tank if necessary free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

A seam of the fuel tank may develop a fuel leak, due to excessive corrosion from exposure to road salt. This could cause a fire hazard, as well as a fuel odor.
