A disabled driver side roof-rail air bag will not deploy in the event of a crash necessitating deployment of that air bag, increasing the risk of injury to the driver.
A wiring harness that is not routed properly in the driver's side door may short, resulting in the side curtain air bag on the driver's side to fail and not deploy in an accident. Dealers will inspect the wiring harness and make repairs as necessary free of charge to resolve the concern.
