Suspension & Steering
Over time, the ball joint corrosion may result in the front lower control arm separating from the ball joint, causing a loss of steering control and increasing the risk of a crash.
The ball joint may corrode and separate from the suspension of the vehicle. Dealers will replace both front lower control arms free of charge to resolve the concern.
Mazda will begin notifying owners of affected vehicles starting in September 2015. You can check with your dealer to see if your vehicle is involved in this program. It is helpful to have your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on hand when you contact them. The Mazda recall number is 8515G.
