Brake Pedal Rod May Fracture

Recall Details

The rod connecting the brake pedal to the braking system may fracture, resulting in loss of vehicle braking. Dealers will inspect the vehicle and replace any affected bracket free of charge to resolve the concern.

What Should You Do?

Recalls on your Cadillac must be performed by a Cadillac dealership. General Motors notified known owners of affected vehicles beginning in August 2015. If you did not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Cadillac dealerships. They will also check for any other uncompleted recalls on your vehicle. Summary
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Cadillac ATS and CTS vehicles. The affected vehicles have a bracket between the brake pedal assembly and the rod that actuates the brakes that may fracture during normal brake pedal operation.
Consequence
If the bracket fractures, the driver would not be able to apply the brakes, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the vehicle and replace any affected bracket, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin August 1, 2015. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is 15352.
