A door that is not securely latched could open while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of injury to a vehicle occupant.
A component within a door latch can break making the doors difficult to latch when closed. This could cause the driver and/or passenger to believe their door is secure when it is not. A door that is not latched properly could open unexpectedly while driving, increasing the risk of personal injury and property damage. Dealers will replace all four door latches free of charge to correct this concern.
Ford will notify owners of affected vehicles in June, 2015. If you are experiencing difficulty closing your doors, or wish to inquire if your vehicle is involved in this recall, you may contact your dealership. The dealership may ask for your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), so please have that on hand when you contact them. The dealers will replace all four door latches free of charge. The Ford recall number is 15S16.
