Brakes
Brake pads that remain partially engaged with the rotors may cause excessive brake heat that may result in a fire.
A software failure in the parking brake system has resulted in incomplete disengagement of the parking brake pads from the rotors, causing excessive brake wear and heat leading to a potential fire hazard. Increased heat in the brakes limits the ability to stop effectively, and accelerating under braking can cause damage to the transmission. Dealers will reprogram the braking module with new software to remedy the problem.
