If the seat belt anchorage fasteners loosen over time, there is an increased risk of personal injury in the event of a crash.
These vehicles are being recalled because their upper seat belt mounts were improperly installed, resulting in an unsafe condition during a crash. Mounts were fastened to the car without enough torque, and these can become loose over time. Dealers will replace the original seatbelt fasteners install the new ones with proper torque.
Ford will begin recalling vehicles March 23, 2015, designated repairs will be performed free of charge. If you don't receive notification in a timely manner and believe you should have, please contact your dealer for further instruction. They may ask for your vehicle identification number (VIN), so please have it handy when you call. Loose seatbelt anchors may vibrate or rattle while driving, and should be inspected by a dealer in any case.
